The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has finally kicked off the Greater Noida Metro link project.The work would start soon.
The DMRC on Friday started work on soil testing for putting the 28-km Noida-Greater Noida Metro route on track.
The Rs 1,8000 crore project was granted to Taiwan- based Continental Engineering Corporation, which has built the Delhi Metro and in now Constructing Jaipur Metro.
General public can use the service by the end of 2018. According to the Chief Executive Officer of Noida and Greater Noida authority, They aim to deliver the this facility to public in next three years.
The metro track will be supported by 1,000 pillars- on every 25 meters. The link will bring the two townships closer to each other.
With nearly 3,000 trees falling in the path of the metro corridor, The Noida Metro Rail Company has also launched ascertain the exact numbers of trees, which need shifting or relocating.
The Rs 5,500-crore route is proposed to have Sector 71 as its originating station, while the last station in Greater Noida will be Bodaki. The track will have a total 21 stations, of which some will be constructed on ground while other stations will be elevated.

Construction Work of metro between City centre (sector-32) – Sector-62 link, to begin next week by private agencies.
On July 2, 2015 the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has selected a private agency to build the 6.8 km city centre – sector 62 metro link. Construction work to begin next week on the Rs. 1,816 crore project. The construction of metro link, expected to finish in the next 36 months. The metro track will expand to indirapuram in Ghaziabad, located along national highway 24 adjoining sector-62 noida. 477 trees and some other utilty services shifted to make way for construction work to begin next week. DMRC has planned this important project. It informed us that it has selected a private agency for construction, said pramod kumar aggarwal, additional chief executive officer (ACEO) of the noida authority. Since 2010, residents of sector -62, 32, 63, 60, 61, 51, 54, 72, 73, 71 and 50 demanding for work on metro link on this strecteh to begin, but it has taken so many years to materialize.
1. Noida Authority and centre will share funds for the project on 80:20 basis.
2. Total budget to be expected rs. 1,816 crore.
3. Construction work expected to complete in 36 months and expected to start on next week.
4. Once the work completed, the link’s connectivity will extend to indirapuram Ghaziabad.
5. The route is to have five station and provide connectivity to sector-62, 62, 63, 64, 65 & sector-50
- 50 acres of land is allotted to DMRC for Depot.
On Thursday, 29 June 2015, the greater noida industrial authority has allotted 50 acres of land to delhi metro rail corporation (DMRC) for construction of a Metro depot in greater noida’s junpat village. The work on Metro depot already started where the last metro station is proposed. Junpat metro is the part of proposed 28 km Noida-Greater Noida Metro link. To rasise funds for the metro project authority decided to sell advertisement to private agencies. The corporation has also already signed few agencies for semi-naming a metro station. Semi naming metro station is not possible in Delhi, because in delhi name of station can decide only by delhi government, semi naming is possible in NCR only. By the end 0f 2018 people can use the metro services, official said.

Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has decided to rope some private agencies to tandem and speed up metro construction work on link between 28 km Noida-Greater Noida Link. According to Noida Metro Rail Corporation Official, the private agencies will also be responsible for work like supervision of work and evaluation of the envirement aspect of the Noida project. The metro project benefits to residents of the nearby area. Pre meeting for finalizing the private agencies is done on 7 august 2015 and the technical bids will be opened on 14 august 2015, date for fincial bid will be notified soon, the NMRC official said. Noida Metro Rail Corporation has already started the pilling work of metro, about 18 pilling rings have already been put in place. Sapanish consultant was appointed in May 2015, Taiwanese and Indian agencies soon start pilling work after a consortium. The total cost of the project is Rs. 5,526 crore and expected to complete by June 2017-2018.
